Ingredients:
Lotus Flower Tea Leaves
Water
Cooking Experience:
In the book, The Blood of Monsters, twelve women are given a pink floral beverage to stay hydrated during their monster transformation trials. Intrigued by the concept of pink floral teas, I decided to explore lotus flower tea, which is surprisingly easy to prepare.
To make it, I started by boiling water on my stovetop and then poured the boiling water into a mug containing a tea infuser filled with lotus flower tea leaves. Although I let my tea steep for two hours, just five minutes is actually sufficient. To cool it down, I placed the steeping mug in the fridge.
After two hours, I transferred the tea into my favorite teacup and returned it to the fridge until it reached my desired temperature. I prefer not to add ice to my beverages, as I enjoy sipping them slowly. Ice tends to dilute the flavor, which I want to avoid.
The tea revealed a lovely hint of pink and was incredibly refreshing. While I initially added sugar, I plan to switch to honey in the future, adding it while the water is still boiling hot. This delightful brew is perfect for spring or summer enjoyment.
