The Crafting Experience:
Dear cherished followers,
I want to sincerely apologize for my lack of progress with this project. Over the past week, we've been surrounded by wild brush fires, and unfortunately, the toxins in the air have affected the health of my household. We are recovering and taking extra precautions to stay safe, but the dangers surrounding these wildfires has hindered my progress on this project.
For now, I can share that in the book series Familiar, the dragon shifter is a copper hue. I’ve chosen to crochet my dragon using burnt pumpkin yarn, complemented by shell pink for the spikes and fringe. Additionally, I’ll incorporate navy and forest yarn skeins for the wings, spikes, and fringe. I have a clear vision of how I want this to turn out and I'm excited to keep moving forward.
So far, I’ve crocheted the curved body tube with the burnt pumpkin yarn using a 5.0 mm crochet needle. I’m currently on row 43 of 45 and have just added wire to help shape the body. Admittedly, I'm still mastering the technique of working with core wire, and I'm focused on achieving the desired curve. Once I get the body into the right shape, I’ll proceed with the next three rows and start on the head.
I promise to keep you updated on this project through this blog, so please stay tuned for more news. I also recognize that I have three other projects in progress, and I plan to provide updates on two of them soon, so keep an eye out for those as well. Once my dragon wall hanging is complete, I will replace the borrowed image currently displayed with a photo of my finished work. I don’t own that image and don’t intend to use it for long.
