There are times in a crafter's life when admitting defeat becomes necessary, and unfortunately, this is one of those moments for me. However, my stubbornness won't let me wave the white flag just yet. While I may have lost this battle, I refuse to concede the war. I plan to watch some video tutorials soon to help me navigate this project. In the meantime, I’d like to share my journey and what hasn’t worked so far.
I started by ordering a bundle of plain halo headbands from Amazon, which turned out to be a lifesaver—I’ve already gone through three trying to attach charms. Initially, I struggled to find pendants large enough for a headpiece, so I thought it would be clever to buy a waist chain adorned with moon and star charms. My plan was to clip them off and use them as embellishments for my tiara. Unfortunately, this turned out to be less than ideal.
I didn’t consider that the charms would be too heavy to adhere to the headband with glue. My first attempt involved hot glue, but it simply peeled off the metal once it dried. I tried various other adhesives, but the weight of the charms caused them to fall off even after the glue had set. Frustrated but undeterred, I decided to try soldering. I purchased a soldering iron from Hobby Lobby, hoping it would do the trick. Yet again, I faced disappointment as the charms proved too heavy to stay attached without breaking off.
At this point, I feel compelled to reach out to experienced crafters who make and sell these items for advice. I apologize for not having a completed project to share just yet, but I hope my misadventures have brought a smile or two to your face.
