Crafting Experience:
In Throne of the Fallen, the protagonist, Camilla, possesses a remarkable talent for creating replicas that she can easily pass off as originals. Unfortunately, this gift becomes her downfall when she is blackmailed. Inspired by her story, I decided to embark on a painting project of my own. Lacking advanced painting skills, I opted for a paint-by-number art piece, allowing me to create the illusion of crafting my own forgery.
The majority of the art I encountered in the story featured depictions of naked fae men and women trying to blend into the human realm. However, I wanted to steer clear of nudity and instead chose a piece that suggests the woman might be nude or perhaps wearing an invisible tube top, cleverly obscured by the surrounding flowers. Additionally, I sought to incorporate elements of mythology, which is why I selected this particular project. I envision this enchanting, seductive woman as a dragon shifter.
This painting is rich in intricate details, making it a long-term endeavor rather than a quick task. I plan to share updates on my progress through photos in this post. So far, I have managed to complete about half of the portrait, dedicating around 20 hours over the past four days. I feel it's coming along beautifully, and I intend to frame it and display it in my office once finished.
While I don’t believe a tutorial is necessary—after all, we all start with paint-by-numbers in preschool—I must admit that I will limit my painting sessions to two hours at a time. The process can become quite tedious, and I've been feeling the strain in my back. Nevertheless, I am excited about this rewarding project and look forward to seeing it through to completion.
